Hi, not sure if I've come to the right area, but I'm looking for the title of a song that contains the lyrics 'how beautiful life is, now your in my world'. Hope that's not too vague, but any help anyone could give me would be really appreciated. Thanks, TK

Are you thinking of "Your Song" by Elton John?

It's called 'Now and Then' or (I Don't Want To Lose You). Jeff Lynne referred to it as 'Miss You' during the Threetles reunion.

It would be a nice gesture if Paul had remade this song as a tribute to the day he met John. 50 years ago today!

Hi. Cool site, thanks so much for taking the time to compile it. I just had a few queries regarding some of the songs, which I have listed below.
There are several songs listed on your site which you credit 50/50 to Lennon/McCartney, which I believe were in fact either completely or primarily written by McCartney.
At the same time there are several songs on which McCartney had significant contributions, which you credit completely to Lennon. An example of this is in your giving 50% credit to Lennon for many of the songs of Sgt Pepper, which were primarily written by Paul [Getting Better, She’s Leaving Home, With A Little Help From My Friends], yet assigning A Day In The Life completely to Lennon. McCartney’s contribution to A Day In The Life was greater than Lennon’s contribution to any of the above Sgt Pepper songs, which were composed primarily by McCartney, but which you have assigned as 50/50 [although Lennon may have contributed, I don't think it is fair to say 50%].
McCartney’s contribution to A Day In The Life more than any other song warrants a 50/50 credit, I think. Though the song was initiated by Lennon, the middle counterpointed verse is McCartney’s, as was the line ‘I’d love to turn you on’, which at the time was striking, and got the song banned. The ‘orchestral orgasm’ at the end of the verses, which was quite revolutionary on a pop record, was also McCartney’s idea and implementation. Additionally, the 'I read the news today' verses which Lennon may have fleshed out by himself, were initiated with both Lennon and McCartney picking out phrases from the news.
I also think that if you are going to credit Lennon for some of the primarily McCartney songs, you can’t leave out McCartney’s vital contribution to stuff like Tomorrow Never Knows [the composition of the tape loops, which account for the song's revolutionary sound - backed up by George Martin and Geoff Emmerick, who both credit McCartney for the loops]. With the first list below, I think 50/50 is a bit unfair on McCartney.
Songs either entirely or principally by McCartney:
And I Love Her [McCartney] Birthday [Principally McCartney. Particularly conceiving the unique sound, which was reportedly a piano fed through a guitar amplifier] Drive My Car [Principally McCartney] Eight Days A Week [Principally McCartney] Every Little Thing [McCartney, though he got Lennon to sing lead] Getting Better [Principally McCartney] Hold Me Tight [McCartney] I Saw Her Standing There [Principally McCartney] I’ve Got A Feeling [Principally McCartney, with a Lennon verse] Love Me Do [McCartney] Magical Mystery Tour [Mainly McCartney] Michelle [Principally McCartney, with Lennon middle] Nobody I Know [McCartney, for Peter and Gordon] She’s Leaving Home [Principally McCartney] The End [McCartney] We Can Work It Out [Principally McCartney] What You’re Doing [McCartney] With A Little Help From My Friends [Principally McCartney, with a little help from his friends on finishing off the lyrics] Yellow Submarine [Principally McCartney, with a little help from his friends]
Songs which had significant McCartney input, but not mentioned on your site:
A Day In The Life Misery Ticket To Ride [disputed - co-written - though McCartney concedes 60% to Lennon] Tomorrow Never Knows In My Life [disputed. Lennon claims the whole thing, saying McCartney did the middle eight. There is no middle eight in the song, and McCartney claims having written all of the music and helped on the second verse [and is quite perturbed that Lennon forgot his contribution]. Critical opinion favours McCartney's account however, in that the nuances of the music, and its wide randing melody, reflect McCartney's writing style, and that the sentiment of the second verse more closely resembles McCartney's outlook]
Apart from that, thanks for the comprehensive list. Most of the information on song credits can be found on Wikipedia [though there are slight errors on Wikipedia, many of the above songs should be cleared up], though my lists are just from what I have gathered after reading about the Beatles endlessly. One other correction was just the title of the song Julia, which you have as Julie, I think.
Thanks a lot for your time.

Sorry, just with the second list in my last post, I understand that the disputed ones are difficult to assign, so perhaps just a note that they are disputed could be good - in any case there were only two of them in that list - Ticket To Ride and In My Life.
The main song on the second list was probably A Day In The Life though.
Also, in no way do I want to take away from Lennon's great contribution to pop music; and I hope my post is not received in that way. I just thought there were a few possible revisions to your list, especially for stuff in the first list, most of which are usually acknowledged to have been written primarily by McCartney.
Thanks.

Thank you for your post. Over the years there have been lots of disputes about authorship of Beatles songs and this list is being continually updated. On the Index-Credits page, I have stated that 'Lennon's Beatles songs', are the ones that Lennon wrote all of the song alone, or more than 50%, based on his original idea. e.g. A Day In The Life, Misery, Ticket To Ride, Tomorrow Never Knows, In My Life Lennon contributed in different degrees to many so called "McCartney Beatles" songs, and the 50/50 I give to represent those songs, are the ones that both songwriters have said that each one contributed a significant amount. e.g. Paul McCartney has said: ' Magical Mystery Tour was co-written by John and I, very much in our fairground period', and 'I Saw Her Standing There, I wrote it with John. We sagged off school and wrote it together on guitars.'
