THIS ONE IS A VERY HARD CHOICE TO MAKE.
But I am going for " Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds. " It still has the power to send shivers down my back, when I hear it. Lennon's voice and those dreamy lyrics are unmistakeable. It is one of my all time favorite Lennon songs.

no question about it... a day in the life... really knowcks you out cold... once the late comedy-scifi writer douglas adams decsribed his "pan galactic gargle blaster" as the drink equivalent of a mugging... well as far as i'm concerned, this song is the musical equivalent of a mugging... striking, literally love jude ps: the above mentioned author was a hardcore beatle fan himself, so i think his spirit will actually be quite pleased to be quoted here... and talking about quotes , check the one below... i think it's inspired!!!

mccartneys middle bit takes the song out of the ordinary. it fits perfectly and livens up the track, what otherwise would be just a ballad by john. the same style as julia. still a great voice.
i go for gm/gm, the lyrics are great and it sounds like you are in a car in a traffic holdup, or a busy street...................

let's face it... paul's bit would have been "ordinary" without john's & vice versa... it was TOGETHER that they really really really worked!!! long live lennon/mccartney!!! love jude

It was so special when they worked together, the magic came through and what the both created was beautiful. John would always add a little bluesy bit to one of Pauls songs and Paul would lighten one of Johns songs. It was perfect.

I would have loved to have voted for Good Morning Good Morning, it has a killer guitar solo and great drums / urgency, but Day in the Life is the best really, isn't it! That's where my vote went.

Of course that's no discredit to Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds either. But if I had to pick an ABSOLUTE favourite, it would have to be the "inner groove" sound snippet (*kidding*). I've worn my record out trying to play that repeatedly. If only you could stick the inner groove on 'repeat' like a cd player...rather than wearing the record out, it would certainly drive the neighbours up the wall.. hehe..
