The Dick Cavett Show - John Lennon & Yoko Ono DVD description: John Lennon and Yoko Ono's two visits to The Dick Cavett Show stand out from their numerous television appearances as their most relaxed, in-depth interviews. Clearly they enjoyed being with Cavett. They even cast him in one of their films. The September 11, 1971, show is notable as the first American television interview John gave after the breakup of The Beatles. So comfortable were the Lennons that after the show was over they continued talking with Cavett. The additional portions of that first interview were shown as part of The Dick Cavett Show on September 24, 1971. During that visit they'd discussed coming back and giving a live performance. True to their word, for their appearance on Cavett's show on May 11, 1972, they returned with Elephants Memory and each sang one song. 3 complete episodes of the legendary late-night talk show featuring John Lennon and Yoko Ono's most candid interviews as well as rare live performances With New Episode Introductions and the Bonus Featurette Cavett And The Lennons Three complete episodes: September 11, 1971 – John & Yoko are Cavett's only guests. They show clips from their experimental films Fly and Erection as well as promotional films for the songs "Imagine" and "Mrs. Lennon." September 24, 1971 – Cavett introduces the three additional segments from John & Yoko's appearance on September 11, 1971 and also welcomes Stan Freberg and Robert Citron. May 12, 1972 – John & Yoko perform live with the band Elephants Memory in their second visit with Cavett. John sings "Woman Is The Nigger Of The World" and Yoko sings "We're All Water." Actress Shirley MacLaine is also on hand. Attachments:

The Beatles Liverpool: The Complete Guide The Beatles Liverpool: The Complete Guide by Ron Jones, is a fascinating and well researched book. It contains over 110 pages and is the ultimate guide to all of Liverpool's Beatles sights. Some sites are famous, like Penny Lane and the Cavern Club, but many are very rare. You will see more using this book than on any Beatles tour. I highly recommend this book. It has detailed directions, is fully illustrated, and includes maps of every location. It is the essential guide for any Beatles fan who wants to know about the Beatles sites in Liverpool, or is visiting Liverpool. Wonderful book. It's my Beatles bible,

Nowhere Boy Sam Taylor-Wood directs this adaptation of Julia Baird's book which recounts the childhood of one of the greatest recording artists and songwriters the world has ever known: John Lennon. The film, which is based on the book Imagine This: Growing Up With My Brother John Lennon by Lennon's half sister Julia Baird is about Lennon's teenage years and his first steps to stardom and focuses on the influence his Aunt Mimi and his mother Julia had on his early life, and his friendship with future fellow Beatle Paul McCartney. British actor Aaron Johnson plays Lennon and Thomas Sangster plays Paul McCartney. Kristin Scott Thomas plays Lennon's aunt Mimi and Anne-Marie Duff plays Lennon's mother Julia.

The Beatles London: The Ultimate Guide Where did John, Paul and George try to post Ringo into a letterbox? Which railway stations were locations in 'A Hard Day's Night? Where was 'I Am The Walrus' filmed? They may have been born in Liverpool, but London was the Beatles home from home, the place where they really grew into their roles as international musical and cultural icons. Subsequently, all over the city, there are sites which represent a significant shared moment in the history of the band, and that of London. The Beatles London is a celebration of those places, both a guide book and a treasure trove of Beatles' nuggets. This unique and fascinating book details how London and the Beatles were, and always be, connected together at the time of a great social and cultural shift. Originally published in 1994, this new edition has been full updated and reformatted, and includes a section on 'Beatles walks' to take across the capital.

John Lennon catalog will get lift through ChristmasSource: variety.com EMI Music's John Lennon reissue campaign, which commenced Oct. 5 in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of Lennon's birth on Oct. 9, will continue to roll through the yuletide retailing season. The remastered Lennon packages made notable chart entries last week. The hits compilation "Power to the People" bowed at No. 24 (with 18,000 copies sold). The new edition of Lennon and Yoko Ono's 1980 set "Double Fantasy," featuring both a new "stripped" mix and the original version of the album, debuted at No. 24 (12,000 sold). "Imagine" entered at No. 88 (5,700 sold). The lavish eight-CD "Signature Box" comprising his complete albums signed on at No. 148 (3,300 sold). And the four-disc themed compilation "Gimme Some Truth" arrived at No. 196 (2,500 sold). While EMI's well-publicized push created high awareness, the numbers for Lennon's solo work did not come close to matching initial sales in September 2009 for the remastered Beatles catalog. "Abbey Road," the bestselling individual title, sold 89,000 out of the box, while the Fab Four's stereo and mono boxed sets sold 26,000 and 12,000, respectively.
