Has anyone read John Steven's book, "The Songs of John?"
I know John Lennon swears he has no understanding of music theory - beyond the basic principles taught to him by his musical influences; which just makes him that more amazing. Well anyway this Professor from Berkeley studied the way John composed his music and how he drew from those influences - (Buddy Holly, Chuck B, Aurther Alexander etc) to compose his music. For all you musicians it is definitely worth checking out. Believe it or not The songs of John Lennon is a class taught at Berkeley College! How cool is that?

It clear that John was an instinctive musician, and one of the greatest rhythm guitarists ever, he has really good timing aswell. That is why I love to hear some of the great stuff on the John Lennon Acoustic album, plus his demo's, just him and an acoustic guitar, so powerful.
