Harrison responds to John's 1980 Playboy Interview
I finally stumbled upon this- i've often wondered what George's thoughts were regarding the famous Lennon interview where he is upset with George for not putting him more in his song run-down biography- and here it is:
December 12, 1987 interview on the show West 57th Street
Selena- in an interview before his death, John said he was really hurt by you, that you never mentioned in your autobiography any of the influence that he had on you.
George- He was annoyed 'cos i didn't say he'd written a line in "Taxman." but I also did not say how I wrote two lines of "Come Together" or three lines of "Eleanor Rigby," you know, i wasn't getting into any of that. I think in the balance, I would have had more things to be niggled with him than he would have had with me!
Selina: He said that you idolozed him as a boy.
George:- That's what he thought. I liked him very much, he was a groove. He was a good lad. but, at the same time, he misread me. He didn't realize who I was and this was the one of the main faults of John and Paul. They were so busy being John and Paul, they failed to realize who else was around at the time.

There was certainly a strained relationship between John and George. It was evident throughout their lives.
John always looked at George as if he was a 'little boy'. He was always talking about how much younger he was, and I do feel as though John expected George to look up to him, and sometimes didn't give George the credit he deserved.

my opinion, and it isnt worth much, on this that they had a brother relationship, rocky but at the same time loving. In a way all the beatles had the same kinda relationship with each other, brotherly.... but meh i may be a bit off base, but oh well
