Liverpool Echo LENNON and McCartney's first stage will be recreated as a star attraction at Liverpool's new city museum.
National Museums Liverpool director Dr David Fleming has revealed the first glimpse of the exhibits he wants to show inside the planned new waterfront building, including the original stage from the church hall where Lennon and McCartney first met.
He also hit back after the Heritage Lottery Fund last month rejected his bid for a key £11.4m, on the grounds of serious concerns about escalating costs and lack of detail about the interior.
Dr Fleming insisted plans for how the vast exhibition space would be used are advanced.
The museum will also house a 200-seater cinema.
