Surely, this is one of John's best efforts, especially as it was recorded on St. Pat's day in '67. I understand that it took 9 takes, but when measured against how well the song STILL stands up...proves once again, that John was THE lyrical genius of the group.

Certainly a true Lennon and McCartney Classic...
Lyrically brilliant; simple in its word play.. telling the story of a girl leaving home.
John used many phrases Mimi used to say to him, whilst he was growing up... and they fit perfectly..

yes i thought so too mojo. the way i know it, paul wrote that one after reading a story in the paper - john had very very little to do with the song at all from what i've read. real love jude

John wrote all the 'What did we do that was wrong...' bits. I read an interview in which he describes how the song was written.
