JOHN Lennon’s guitar from the early 60s and the oldest signed photo of Paul McCartney are just two Beatles lots set to feature at a Christie’s auction. The 1958 Hofner Senator is expected to sell for between £100,000 and £150,000 and comes with an authentification certificate from George Harrison. Another rare item is a signed picture of Paul McCartney, aged 10, in 1953 in his final year scholarship class at the Joseph William School, Gateacre. The photo has had only one owner for the last 60 years, a classmate of Paul’s who is only now selling it. It is expected to fetch between £2,000 to £3,000. Christie’s Beatles expert Neil Roberts said: "The majority of our popular culture lots involve The Beatles. "It’s an ever growing market with buyers coming from both the baby-boomer generation andnow coming into money and wanting a piece of their youth through to young people." only just discovering The Beatles. The auction takes place on July 1 at Christie’s South Kensington www.liverpoolecho.co.uk
