People of my age normally approve of modern heavy metal, where so called 'singers' wail down the microphone and sound as if they are shredding their throat - whenever people ask me who my favourite artists are, they always give me funny looks, and explain to me why I am wrong and why I should be listening to more modern trash. People my age think listening to The Beatles is some sort of crime, however although music from the same era as the four is very popular still within my age group, many others just don't understand - this occasionally winds me up: I always ask them questions such as 'Why are they the biggest band ever then?' 'Why are they still talked about today?' 'Why do modern bands look up to them so much?' - At my school, I basically promote The Beatles to my friends, and usually they come back to me with positive comments. Is it me, or do some people just don't understand?

Great post NowhereMan.
With the Beatles remasters just released, somebody said this about a review of The Beatles: "You'd have to have cloth ears not to understand what the fuss was about."
