"Fifth Beatle" Sir George Martin is recovering after undergoing "routine surgery".
The veteran producer, who helped to shape the band's sound throughout almost their entire recording career, spent a night in hospital following the operation.
Sir George, 83, is now back at home after the medical procedure.
His manager Adam Sharp said: "George Martin had routine surgery earlier this week. He spent one night in hospital and is now back at home."
